SCHILLER PARK, Ill. (CBS) -- It was like a flashback in time this morning in Schiller Park, where gas was selling for a little over $1 per gallon for about an hour.
As WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports, at 7 a.m. Thursday, the sign at the gas station at River Road and Lawrence Avenue read $1.04 per gallon -- $2.81 less than normal.

It was all part of a radio promotion for CBS radio station K-HITS/104.3.
Gail Woods was among the happy customers.
"I just happened to be here getting gas, and it was the regular price, and they said, 'Wait five more minutes and you're going to be surprised,' and I went around the corner,; I'm like, 'Oh my God!" Woods said.
Aurelio Figueroa waited in the long line that stretched down Lawrence Avenue.
"I drove here as fast as I can – me and my wife," Figueroa said. "Both vehicles."
The owner of the gas station, George Zervos, watched as the crowd of cars lined up.
"It's nice to see people happy," he said.
