And the right side of the line has done well enough for a game and a half to stay put. Right guard Edwin Williams and rookie right tackle JaMarcus Webb will remain in their starting jobs.
Tice wants Sunday to be the day the starting five up front remain the starting five barring injury for the rest of the season.
So far, Omiyale has played right tackle and left tackle. Lance Louis played right guard. Kevin Shaffer played right tackle and left tackle. Roberto Garza starting training camp at right guard and moved to left guard. Now, Chris Williams could be ticketed for left guard after a season plus at left tackle.
Mixing and matching is not ideal, but necessary as Martz and Tice develop a thorough understanding of who can do what and how well.
