Jon Stewart, How Could You? 'The Daily Show' Insults Chicago Pizza
CHICAGO (CBS) -- See that? That's quite possibly the The Daily Show's Chicago ratings plummeting faster than a penny dropped from the top of the Sears Willis Tower.
Hopefully.
John Stewart, angered by Chicago's response to the decision to declare One World Trade Center the tallest building in the U.S. over Willis Tower, said some unsavory things about Chicago's famous deep dish pizza on The Daily Show on Wednesday.
Jon Stewart Insults Chicago Style Pizza
He started his pizza tirade by saying, "Deep dish pizza is not only not better than New York pizza, it's not pizza."
It only got worse from there.
Stewart went on to call Chicago style pizza "[expletive] casserole," "a cornbread biscuit," and "tomato soup in a bread bowl."
The worst thing Stewart said? "Your pizza is like sex with a corpse made of sand paper."
How did Chicagoans respond to Stewart's comments? We were going to post Facebook reactions from The Daily Show Facebook page, but most of them include expletives we can't -- in good conscience or according to the rules -- show you.
There is one reaction we can show you though: Mayor Emanuel's.
Inspired by Stewart's segment, the mayor's office, @ChicagosMayor, on Thursday tweeted, ".@TheDailyShow loved your show last night. It gave us the perfect lunch idea."
What was attached to the tweet? A photo of deep dish pizza, of course.
Hours later, the Mayor's office then sent out the below tweet:
We also sent @TheDailyShow some real pizza for lunch today. No hard feelings? pic.twitter.com/sdnZ61EyTu

It's unknown whether Stewart has, in fact, eaten any of the pizza Rahm Emanuel sent them.
It's probably important to note that Stewart also made fun of Chicago's homicide rate, Chicago's weather and Chicago style hot dogs.
