Johnson: 'Luol Is Justifying All Star Selection'
(WSCR) As Derrick Rose continues to sit with an injured back, Luol Deng has stepped up nicely in place of the point guard.
Over his past two games, Deng has garnered 21 assists, as he's paced the Bulls offense.
"It's been fantastic," K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune told The McNeil and Spiegel Show. "(Deng has had) 21 assists in the last two games. It's clear that C.J. (Watson) is struggling a little bit lately, and Tom (Thibodeau) is obviously very comfortable with Luol initiating a little bit of the offense. I don't think it's something that will be a lasting thing whenever Derrick returns from his back injury; however, it's certainly an option that's been working right now. Luol is seeing the court very well. He's not only facilitating to offense, but he's playing off of people in that corner 3-point shot.
