Johnson: Lobbying For Another Player 'Isn't Who Rose Is'
(WSCR) Derrick Rose's return to the Bulls on Monday after missing five games wasn't the only news surrounding the team over the past few days.
A report that originated in Spain suggested that Rose had been lobbying for general manager Gar Forman to make a trade with the Lakers that would send Carlos Boozer to Los Angeles in exchange for Pau Gasol.
"I don't like to shoot down other people's stories, but I don't know where that one came from," K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune told The Mully and Hanley Show.

Lobbying for a player on another team just isn't Rose's style. He didn't do it with LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in 2010 and he isn't doing it for Dwight Howard now.
After the Bulls win over the Hawks on Monday, Rose didn't speak with the media. Johnson said he may have been upset by the erroneous report.
"It just seems odd," Johnson said. "I don't know this for sure, although somebody hinted that it might have some legs to it: One of the reasons Derrick did not talk (to the media) postgame, which is very, very rare for him. I heard it was partly because he didn't like the way he played. He had four turnovers. He didn't play great after the first quarter, but I think also he was upset with what that report suggested, because that's just not Derrick. That's just not who he is."
Johnson also suggested that he didn't think the Bulls will make any trades before the trade deadline in March.
"I don't think the Bulls will be making any major moves," he said. "I think their major move is adding Rip Hamilton after the All-Star break.
