Johnson: Deng Wants To Play Sunday
(WSCR) Despite a torn ligament in his wrist, Luol Deng will play Sunday against the Heat.
At least that's what he's telling people.
"Lou is playing Sunday," K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune told The Mully and Hanley Show. "I can't believe that, but that's what he is telling people. He's adamant about that. I don't know if he'll get clearance from the organization. ... They're on board with Lou's decision in terms of not getting surgery. If they're on board with that, if the guy says he's going to play Sunday, I mean, he's eventually going to try to play with this. It's not like the ligament is going to heal by Sunday or two weeks from now. I wouldn't be surprised if Lou is out there on Sunday."

Deng hasn't played since he injured his left wrist last Saturday. Though the injury can't get any worse, it all comes down to pain tolerance.
"I admire what he's trying to do, but I have some trepidation about how it's going to end," Johnson said. "Everybody keeps saying that surgery is not out of the realm of possibility at some point. Now, I reported that has been told he can't make it any worse because the ligament is already torn. it's just a matter of playing with the pain."
