John Fox: 'We'll Evaluate' The QB Situation
(CBS) After an abysmal offensive showing by the Bears in a 26-0 road loss to the Seahawks on Sunday, Chicago coach John Fox hasn't committed to a starting quarterback for next Sunday's home game against the Raiders.
Starting in place of the injured Jay Cutler, Jimmy Clausen was just 9-of-17 for 63 yards as Chicago featured an ultra-conservative, limited game plan. With Cutler expected to be out at least one more week with a hamstring injury, is there a chance Fox turns to second-year pro David Fales on Sunday?
Who knows.
"There's one guy that's our starter, and we'll evaluate where that is," Fox said in his Monday morning interview on WBBM Newsradio. "We'll have a lot better grasp of who our quarterback will be by Wednesday.
"Like most teams in the league, when you don't have your starting quarterback, you drop off."
Chicago fell to 0-3 with the loss at Seattle.
"It's obviously not good enough," Fox said. "The positive side is I think our defense made some progress. The other two phases, not so much."
