Joe Montana's Son, Former Notre Dame QB Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) Former Notre Dame quarterback Nate Montana been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Missoula County jail records show the 21-year-old Montana was booked into jail on a first offense DUI charge at 3:46 a.m. Friday and released about 30 minutes later after posting a $685 bond.
Nate Montana transferred from Notre Dame to the University of Montana in Missoula in February and is vying for the starting quarterback spot.
University of Montana Executive Vice President Jim Foley says the school will continue to monitor the judicial process and any discipline will be handled internally.
Nate, the son of NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana, was one of 11 Notre Dame athletes arrested on misdemeanor charges of underage drinking at a party in South Bend, Ind., last July.
Missoula radio station KGVO-AM first reported the arrest.
