Jail A Moneymaker For Kendall County
YORKVILLE, Ill. (WBBM) -- In an economic climate that has government struggling to raise revenues, Kendall County has one funding source all locked up, as it were.

The Joliet Herald News reports the jail is one of a few with more cells than prisoners, which has allowed corrections officials to hold overflow prisoners from other counties – of course, for a fee.
The Kendall County Sheriff says the outsourcing of jail space to counties including Kane and Cook brought in close to $900,000 last year, and the trend is expected to continue.
Sheriff Richard Randall tells the Herald News that DeKalb County is in need, but is not expected to expand its jail in the coming year, and Cook County has already reportedly inquired about housing opportunities for inmates in 2011.
