ISP Investigates Second Eisenhower Shooting
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Illinois State Police (ISP) officials are investigating Friday a shooting which occured Friday around noon on the Eisenhower Expressway westbound at Harlem Avenue.
ISP Troopers responded Friday to reports of shots fired at I-290 west bound at Harlem Avenue.
One victim is reported injured from the shooting, according to Illinois state police. The victim was taken to a local hospital. The victim's condition is unknown at this time. There is no additional information.
All westbound lanes were closed at Harlem for the investigation, but they were reopened by 1:50 p.m., police said.
About 10 hours earlier, a man was shot while driving on the Eisenhower in West Garfield Park, according to ISP.
The victim arrived at Stroger Hospital about 1:30 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the leg and told investigators the shooting happened on the Kostner exit ramp from westbound I-290, according to ISP. His injury was not thought to be life-threatening.
Troopers canvassed the exit for shell casings but weren't able to find evidence.
The shootings are at least the 42nd and 43rd on Chicago expressways so far this year, according to data. There were 39 such shootings in 2015.
