Man charged with murder in fatal stabbing in Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago
A man has been charged in a deadly stabbing earlier this week on the North Side of Chicago.
Irving Martinez-Hernandez, 30, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder in the death of 34-year-old Juan Carlos Tello-Suarez.
Police said, shortly before 8 p.m. on Tuesday, officers were called to the 3500 block of North Sunnyside Avenue in the Albany Park neighborhood for a report of a stabbing.
Investigators learned Martinez-Hernandez and Tello-Suarez had gotten into a fight, and Martinez-Hernandez had stabbed Tello-Suarez multiple times.
Tello-Suarez was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Martinez-Hernandez was arrested just over an hour after the stabbing, and was due to make his first court appearance on Saturday.
