Investigators Seek Leads In LaGrange Home Attack
LAGRANGE (CBS) -- Cook County sheriff's investigators are seeking clues into a violent home invasion that left one man shot and another beaten by masked gunmen in the Highlands subdivision in LaGrange.
A 911 call reported a home invasion in unincorporated Lyons Township on Sunday around 10:30 p.m. Patrol officers responded to the home, on the 5600 block of Howard Avenue.
When they arrived, officers found the victims, ages 25 and 27, injured inside the house, with spent shell casings on the floor. One man was shot in the upper chest. He was taken to Loyola Hospital and is in serious but stable condition. His brother was hit in the head, and he was treated and released at LaGrange Community Hospital.
The victims told police three masked gunmen entered their residence, ordered them to the floor, and a struggle ensued. During the attack, the first victim was shot, and the other struck in the head. After wounding the victims, the gunmen fled. Police believe the motive was robbery.
