Injury Report: Barber, Harris Doubtful Against Saints
(CBS) Marion Barber, Chris Harris and Lance Louis were all listed as "doubtful" for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints Friday.
Harris (hamstring) and Louis (ankle) haven't practiced all week while Barber continues to be hampered by a calf injury he sustained in the third preseason game.
Kahlil Bell will continue to get the work behind Matt Forte as the backup running back as he did last week against the Falcons.
Harris' injury stresses how important it was for the Bears to go out and sign Brandon Meriweather. The new Bears' safety will likely get the nod beside Major Wright, but it's unclear which one will play free safety and which one will play strong safety.
Chris Spencer is set to start at right guard in place of Louis. He filled in for Louis at the position last week when the injury occurred and played well.
Meanwhile, Roy Williams (groin) is listed as questionable. If he doesn't play, Johnny Knox should start and see a lot more action at wide receiver.
Defensive end Corey Wootton (knee) is also listed as questionable after being a full participant in practice Thursday and Friday.
Cornerback Zach Bowman (hamstring) and wide receiver Sam Hurd (ankle) are both probable.
For the Saints, wide receiver Marques Colston (shoulder) and kicker Garrett Hartley (right hip) are out.
Safety Roman Harper (ankle), defensive tackle Tom Johnson (calf), wide receiver Lance Moore (groin) and cornerback Tracy Porter (calf) are all questionable.
Guard Carl Nicks is probable with an illness.
