Police received a 911 call about 11 a.m. Thursday about an unresponsive infant in the 6000 block of South Honore Street, police said.
The boy's parents found the infant not breathing at home and he was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, police said.
Demari Brown died at the hospital at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
A Friday autopsy determined Demari died from multiple blunt force injuries and child abuse, and the death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.
