Police say eight Asian students were walking to a dorm on the Bloomington campus before dawn Sunday when they were approached by a group of eight blacks persons.
Police say the blacks used anti-Chinese slurs and say four of the Asians were robbed or assaulted. One had a broken jaw.
Campus police Chief Keith Cash says officers arrested 18-year-old student Terry L. Campbell Jr. on Monday night on initial charges of robbery and battery.
Cash expects more arrests. He tells WTHR-TV he contacted the FBI and is considering if the attack broke civil rights law.
