Indiana State Trooper Peter Stephan Dies In Crash While On Duty
CHICAGO (CBS)-- An Indiana State Trooper died in a car crash Friday night.
Peter Stephan, 27, of Lafayette, Indiana, died when his squad car slipped going around a curve and slammed into a light pole. Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident took place Old State Road 25 near Stair Road.
Stephan was on his way to help another trooper when he crashed.
He had been with the Indiana State Police for four years.
Stephan leaves behind a wife and 6-month old daughter.
