Indiana Gambling Revenue Declines In November
CHICAGO (CBS) -- As Illinois continues to consider gambling expansion, Indiana is watching its casino revenue drop.
A monthly revenue report shows the five casinos took in just over $82 million in total revenue in November.
That's a loss of 4.5 percent from the same month in 2011 and the eighth month in a row of declining revenue.
The highest loss was reported at Horseshoe Casino where revenue is down 10 percent from the same time last year.
Casinos in East Chicago and Gary saw slight gains in revenue last month.
Indiana gambling officials say the numbers show the state is not ready for another casino, downplaying a proposal for a land-based venue in Hammond.
