In The Spirit Of Sportsmanship, Obama Congratulates Packers
Most Chicago Bears' fans will do their best to avoid anything having to do with the Green Bay Packers for a while. However, duty calls for President Barack Obama as he traveled to the heart of Packer-land.
En route to an economy speech in Wisconsin, Obama called Sunday "a tough day for Bears fans." He said that even though his team didn't prevail, "I'm glad to see that one of the greatest rivalries in sports is still there. And we will get you next year. I'm just letting you know."

Obama had said he would go to Super Bowl on Feb. 6 if the Bears won last week. The Packers did, 21-14.
Obama congratulated the Packers on winning the championship.
He said, "In the spirit of sportsmanship, I wish you 'good luck' in the Super Bowl."
