In A Season Of Breaks, This May Be The Biggest
CHICAGO (CBS) - In a Chicago Bears season full of breaks this might be the biggest yet. The Bears will be facing below-500 Seattle, and the most beatable team left in the NFC but the Bears are hardly getting overconfident.
"They didn't start out good but now they are coming around and playing well. Look at last week with all the points they put up. Their quarterback is awesome, we have to make sure we do our part and take care of our business," said Bears wide receiver Devin Hester.
"It's always good in this league to play someone outside of the division that has beaten you already. They look good. They are clicking on all cylinders and they gave New Orleans a great game," added Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris.
And the Bears have been outspoken all season about how they love being the underdog and playing with a chip on their shoulders but they loose that role this weekend.
"Really if we go by what people think we wouldn't be in the playoffs," said Harris.
"Unless you're betting on it, it doesn't matter. People can say they are a 7 and 9 team but they beat the heck out of a good team pretty decisively," acknowledges Bears tight end Greg Olsen.
"I wish we were the underdog, I like being the underdog. If we were picked to win, good, if not, that's ok too. What we have to do is not based on what anybody says. It's all up to us," said Hester.
So the Bears are in a bit of an uncomfortable situation. They can't use it as motivation because there is no disrespect this week from the prognosticators. The Bears are 10-point favorites over Seattle.
