More Than 18,000 Unemployment Claims Filed In Illinois Last Week Amid COVID-19 Pandemic
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) reported 18,426 new unemployment claims were filed during the week of August 9 in Illinois, a 14% decrease from the previous week when 21,499 people filed.
Illinois' estimated claims are among 348,000 total claims filed across the country last week.
