Illinois Running Back Ford Arrested For Suspended License
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) On Tuesday, Fighting Illini senior running back Jason Ford was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.
University of Illinois Police Lt. Roy Acree said Tuesday that Ford was arrested Sunday morning. That's when police discovered a warrant in nearby McLean County for failure to appear in court to answer the July 2010 charge. Ford is free on $300 bond.
Acree says police arrested Ford after being called to a parking garage over an argument. No one was arrested in the argument but officers discovered the warrant during a routine check.
Ford is Illinois' top back.
He wasn't available for comment. Illinois football coach Ron Zook wouldn't discuss what disciplinary action Ford might face.
Ford earlier pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license on campus in April 2010.
