Illinois Lottery To Resume Prize Payouts
The Illinois Lottery will soon start paying out prizes to winners once again after a five-month stall because of the state budget impasse, the agency announced Monday.
Gov. Bruce Rauner signed a bill Monday freeing up funds to resume prize payouts of over $600, which had been on hold since July 1.
Prize claims will be processed in the order they were received starting Dec. 14.
Winning tickets can be claimed at any Lottery Claim Center, found at illinoislottery.com. Prizes under $600 can still be claimed at any Lottery retailer.
"We are excited to be back and look forward to a revitalized experience for our players," acting Illinois Lottery director B.R. Lane said in a statement.
