Illinois Democrats Woo Voters Before Obama Rally
CHICAGO (AP) -- Democrats were out early Saturday trying to fire up voters before President Barack Obama's Chicago rally.
Gov. Pat Quinn, Senate hopeful Alexi Giannoulias and other Democrats urged people to vote during the Saturday morning gathering of the Rev. Jesse Jackson's Rainbow PUSH Coalition, televised and broadcast on radio.
Quinn urged people not to waste their vote because in his words "we're running against the right wing" that wants to tear down Obama. Quinn is running against Republican state Sen. Bill Brady of Bloomington.
Giannoulias blasted his Republican opponent Mark Kirk and conservatives like Sarah Palin for saying they want to take the country back.
Giannoulias says he wants to know how far back the Republicans want to go because he blames them for the nation's economic troubles.
