Illini's Paul Named National Player Of The Week
(WSCR) Behind their No. 10 national ranking, a member of the Illinois basketball team has earned national honors.
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association named Brandon Paul the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week for games of the seven-day period ending Sunday, Dec. 9.
The Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook determines the USBWA award winner each Tuesday through Feb. 19.
The 6-foot-4 senior scored a season-high 35 points in Illinois' 85-74 victory at Gonzaga and averaged 24.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks in two games.
