Illini Open Up 1,500 Additional Seats For Michigan Game
(CBS) Ticket demands for the Nov. 12 game against Michigan are so high that Illinois has opened up 1,500 seats that are usually covered to accommodate more fans.
The first five rows of seats on the east and west sides of Memorial Stadium are generally closed because views are obstructed by the teams standing on the sidelines.
The Illini (6-3 overall, 2-3 Big Ten) are off this week before hosting the Wolverines Nov. 12. Michigan is 7-1 and ranked No. 13 in the country.
If the additional seats are sold, it would be Illinois' first sellout of the season.
