IDOT Worker Struck, Killed Near Woodstock
WOODSTOCK, Ill. (WBBM) -- An Illinois Department of Transportation worker was struck and killed by a vehicle in a work zone near Woodstock on Monday.
It happened at about 9 a.m. as the IDOT employee was working on a road resurfacing crew, according to IDOT spokesman Guy Tridgell.

"An IDOT employee with the Bureau of Construction in District 1 was struck by a vehicle while he was in a work zone on Illinois 14 near Woodstock in McHenry County," Tridgell said. "He died shortly thereafter."
Tridgell says, "This is obviously a tragedy and we are deeply saddened."
He says this is the first work-related death of an IDOT employee this year.
