Human Remains Found In Woods In River Forest; Man Confesses

UPDATED: 10/11/2013 11:45 a.m.

RIVER FOREST, Ill. (CBS) -- Chicago Police are investigating human remains of a woman found in Thatcher Woods Forest Preserve in west suburban River Forest on Thursday night.

The 19-year-old victim's estranged boyfriend confessed to killing the woman, sources tell CBS 2.

He confessed at the hospital while he was treated for cuts all over his hands, the sources said.

The remains were found in the 8100 block of West Chicago Avenue.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office declared the death a homicide and said the woman's remains were found in some type of plastic container. The victim had been stabbed.

William Clary spends a lot of time in the otherwise peaceful preserve.

"It's pretty creepy," he says of the gruesome discovery.

While the remains were found in River Forest, Chicago Police are leading the death investigation.
