Hull House Museum To Rent Out Art For Free
CHICAGO (CBS) -- If you want to display contemporary art in your home, for free, there's another option now besides letting your kids loose with fingerpaint on your walls.
As WBBM Newsradio's Kris Kridel reports, the Jane Addams Hull House Museum, at 800 S. Halsted St. on the University of Illinois at Chicago campus, is reviving its art lending program.

Visitors to the museum can sign up to keep an original piece of contemporary art at no charge.
The initial collection will include more than two dozen pieces by artists from around the country.
For the program, a visitor comes to the museum and chooses a piece of art from the Hull House collection, and a member of a the Hull House Mobile Art Corps delivers the art, installs it, and takes a photo to document their work.
The renter gets to keep the artwork for three months, after which point it will be returned to the Hull House for others to enjoy.
Jane Addams herself had a lending program at her settlement house on the present-day UIC site.
The Hull House social service agency shut down in January after more than 120 years in operation. It was founded by Addams in 1889.
