Hudson On Critics: 'They Have No Life'

(WSCR) Orlando Hudson's welcome to the South Side hit a bit of a snag when one Twins reporter called him "the worst player I've ever covered."

Jim Souhan of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, who covered Hudson for one season with the Twins, went off on White Sox's new veteran utility man, saying he "drove people crazy" and the Twins "couldn't wait to get rid of him."

Hudson joined The McNeil and Spiegel Show on Friday to discuss those comments.

"You think I care about (the media?)" Hudson said. "They've never played baseball before.

"Those people don't matter to me. They've never played. They don't understand. Those people that have those types of things to say about me, they have no life. They're miserable. They may not have the financial means or the love, and they may see myself and say 'Why is he doing well and I can't?' You've got those people in your life. You need those type of people in your life to keep you going. Those are the people called haters. If you don't have haters, you're not living your life right."
