Hoyer, McLeod Join Cubs Front Office
CHICAGO (CBS) -- As expected after the deal was finalized for Theo Epstein to run the Chicago Cubs, the team announced Wednesday that Jed Hoyer and Jason McLeod have joined the team's front office.
The Cubs and San Diego Padres announced that Hoyer and McLeod would leave the Padres, effective immediately, to accept positions with the Cubs in exchange for a player to be named later.
Hoyer will take over as the Cubs' executive vice president and general manager and McLeod will be the senior vice president of scouting and player development.
Josh Byrnes will take over for Hoyer as general manager in San Diego.
