Hostage Standoff In Gary Ends Peacefully
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A hostage situation lasting about four hours ended in Gary last night with a man releasing four hostages and surrendering to police.
Police were told 18-year-old Marcus Flanagan, who was wanted on a murder charge in Hammond, was at a home near 24th Avenue and Fairbanks Street.
When police approached, Flanagan allegedly began holding four people hostage inside.
He released two hostages some time later and the other two several hours after that.
There were no injuries.
