Hossa Returns, Kane And Crawford Out
After almost a month on the bench, Marian Hossa will return to the Blackhawks' lineup tonight. Hossa, who's been out since November 29th after colliding with teammate Nick Boynton during practice, missed a total of 10 games with a lower body injury.
Hossa (8 goals, 10 assists) will provide a welcome boost of offense to team that's been clicking lately. The Hawks have rattled of three straight wins over Los Angeles, Detroit and Nashville and are playing more effective, defensive minded hockey.
What won't help the Hawks Sunday against the Blue Jackets is goaltender Corey Crawford sitting out with an illness. Crawford has had the hot hand of late and is 11-6-1 with a 2.31 goals against average.
Hannu Toivonen would be the likely call-up from Rockford to back up Marty Turco for Sunday night's game.
