Hossa Named NHL 'Second Star' Of The Week
(WSCR) - Over the course of the four games the Blackhawks played last week, Marian Hossa tallied four goals and two assists. Hossa's effort not only helped him get off to a good individual start, but also helped get the Blackhawks get on track after a slow overall start.
The Blackhawks 3-1-0 record over the week is thanks in large part to Hossa; who scored twice, including a game-winner, against the Buffalo Sabres on Oct. 11.
Hossa was limited to 57 regular season games last year after being sidelined for part of the beginning of the season to recover from off-season shoulder surgery.
A healthy Hossa for a full year should prove to be very valuable for the Blackhawks as they try to fill some of the offense they lost through off-season trades and free-agent departures.
Anaheim Ducks centerman, Ryan Getzlaf was named the 'third star' of the week and Florida Panthers goalie, Tomas Vokoun was named the 'first star.'
