Hossa Is Key To Blackhawks' Playoff Hopes
With 25 games left in the season and the Chicago Blackhawks sitting four points out of the playoffs, every game is a must win. And the biggest key for the Blackhawks' success down the stretch will be Marian Hossa.
In their 3-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday night the Blackhawks not only picked up two points, but also got a glimpse of the Hossa they haven't seen in a while.
"I think Marian Hossa played his best game in weeks," Chris Kuc, of the Chicago Tribune, said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "I think he's really been battling some injuries. You know, of course he the shoulder problem and he had a lower body injury that kept him out for a long time after he collided with Nick Boynton in practice. Then he came back and had another injury. Then he had a case of vertigo and then he had the flu. This is a guy that, you need him to be at his best.

"When he is at his best and playing his best hockey, like early in the season...he was among the best players in hockey. He just dominated hockey games. And I think that if the 'Hawks can get him back to that area, of where he's playing so well, they have a real chance here to make a run through the Western Conference and get a playoff spot. I think [Wednesday] was a very encouraging sign if you're a Blackhawks fan...That was definitely the Marian Hossa of old."
