Homeowners Protest Bank Of America Over Slow Action
CHICAGO (WBBM/CBS) -- Dozens of Chicago homeowners stormed the Bank of America office downtown Wednesday, complaining that the bank is dragging its feet on their loan modification requests.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Regine Schlesinger reports, the homeowners all have mortgages with Bank of America, and say they have applied for loan modifications following all the rules.

Michele Taylor with the Northwest Side Housing Center says over 50 homeowners jumped through every hoop the bank requires for the modifications. She says some of her clients have been waiting for months and months to have the bank review their requests.
The protest was held outside the bank's Chicago headquarters, 135 S. LaSalle St.
Bank of America spokeswoman Diane Wagner said she cannot comment on these specific cases but says the bank is doing what it can to speed up the process.
In an e-mail to CBS 2, Wagner said the bank recently opened a customer assistance center to help homeowners with the loan modification process, and held a customer outreach event with non-profit partners at McCormick Place.
Wagner said the bank asked representatives of the Northwest Housing Center to make appointments with the new customer care center, but the group has decided not to right now.
