Homeless Man Wants Name On Ballot
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- A homeless man is asking a court to put his name on the Chicago election ballot.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's David Roe reports, Sylvester "Junebug" Hendricks has run unsuccessfully as a Republican for several seats in the past.

He is now attempting to challenge Ald. Leslie Hairston in the South Side's 5th Ward, and he is asking a judge to rule him eligible and order the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners to put his name on the ballot.
The Board of Election Commissioners ruled that Hendricks could not be a candidate for the 5th Ward Aldermanic seat because he doesn't have a permanent residence. His suit claims there's no law preventing homeless people from running.
Hendricks has previously run unsuccessfully for 5th Ward alderman, as well as for state representative in the 26th District.
