Homeless Man Slashes 2 Harassers At Jackson Red Line Stop
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A fight turned violent overnight at a CTA Red Line subway station downtown.
Just before 2 a.m. at the Jackson stop, two men began harassing a girl and at least one other person, before they began bothering a homeless man, police said.
The homeless man repeatedly told his harassers to "leave me alone," but they would not, so he began defending himself. He used a knife to cut one man above the hand and nicked the other in the finger, police said.
The two injured men are in their 20s, according to Alfaro, who said one was cut on the pinkie finger and the other suffered a cut to the hand.
One of the men was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, while the other refused medical treatment, Alfaro said.
The homeless man fled and is not in custody, but the man with the finger injury is under arrest for disorderly conduct, police said.
