Homeless Announcer Records Spots For Kraft

NORTHFIELD, Ill. (CBS) -- Northfield-based Kraft Foods has hired homeless radio announcer and Internet sensation Ted Williams for commercial voiceover work.
Kraft spokeswoman Lynne Galia told CBS 2 that while in New York on Thursday morning, Williams went into a studio and recorded the voiceovers for Kraft.
Williams was panhandling alongside Interstate 71 in Columbus, Ohio, when a reporter from the Columbus Dispatch spoke to him and asked him to demonstrate his vocal talents.

The video went viral, and now, Williams is in the national spotlight and getting numerous job opportunities. NFL Films and the Cleveland Cavaliers have also contacted him.
The first Kraft commercial that will feature Williams' voice will run Sunday night, during an ESPN broadcast of the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in which Boston College will play Nevada.
The air dates for the other two spots featuring Williams have yet to be announced. Kraft has not decided whether it will hire Williams for additional work, a spokeswoman told Crain's Chicago Business.
