Holiday Schedule Changes At Metra
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- If you ride on Metra, be ready for changes in schedules the next couple of days.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Bob Roberts reports, many businesses are closing early Thursday, and are open only a half day – if at all – for Christmas Eve Friday.
For that reason, Metra is beefing up service Thursday, according to acting executive director Bill Tupper.
"All lines except the Heritage Corridor will have extra trains in the early afternoon to serve passengers leaving the city early for the holiday weekend," Tupper said.
Passengers will need to show their regular tickets Thursday, but to ride anytime Friday through Sunday, travelers can pick up Metra's flat-rate $7 weekend pass.
One weekend pass will be good for unlimited rides for all three days.
