Holiday Grinch Steals Hundreds From Charity Jar
NILES, Ill. (STMW) -- A north suburban police department is seeking the public's assistance with identifying a man who allegedly stole more than $250 from a charitable contribution jar.
The robbery occurred at Golf Mill Mall, 239 Golf Mill Center in Niles, about 4:30 p.m. Nov. 19, according to a release from Niles police.
According to police, the offender took the jar from a customer service desk, concealed it underneath his jacket and fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a white, stocky male with light colored – possibly gray – hair.
