Holiday Brings Back Painful Memories For Mothers Who Have Lost Kids To Violence
CHICAGO (CBS) -- On the corner near St. Sabina Church on the South Side - a grim reminder that Mother's Day is not a day to celebrate for the women whose sons and daughters have been killed.
One by one, the women introduced themselves.
"My name is Donna Hall. My son was killed three months ago."
Her son Marshall was killed in a West Side Popeye's Chicken.
"He had just turned 21. He was sitting inside a Popeye's and somebody shot through the window and killed my baby."
Like, the other mothers, she brought a picture of her son.

"I'm going crazy. I'm on so much medication. And I know I shouldn't say it but if I wake up tomorrow, that's fine. If I don't, that's still fine. Because at least I'll be with my son."
After prayers, the women released balloons into the air. Balloons that bore the names of their murdered sons and daughters.
