Hit-And-Run Driver Sought For Seriously Injuring UIC Student
CHICAGO (STMW) - Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck a University of Illinois at Chicago student last month on the Near West Side.
A motorist, driving a black Dodge Challenger with a chrome gas tank cover, struck a UIC student who was crossing the street in the 800 block of West Roosevelt Road at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 26, according to a community alert from the police Major Accident Investigative Unit.
The Challenger then fled south on Halsted Street and was last seen at 18th and Halsted Streets, the alert said.
The pedestrian suffered serious injuries.
