Hinrich To Start In Season-Opener
(WSCR) After missing the team's final exhibition game Friday with a sore groin, Kirk Hinrich will start in the Bulls season opener against the Kings on Wednesday night.
Hinrich, who returned to practice Monday, participated in Wednesday's morning shootaround without issue and head coach Tom Thibodeau said he won't be limited tonight.
"He has been fine the last two days in practice, so he's good," Thibodeau said.
Hinrich, who signed with the Bulls as a free agent this offesason, will start alongside Richard Hamilton, Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah.
"You judge your point guard by how the team is functioning," Thibodeau said. "I thought he set the tone on offense and defense for us. The ball pressure was good. His help defense was good. He kept us organized. We played with a good pace. His willingness to read matchups and make the extra pass and ability to understand what everybody's strengths and weaknesses are was good."
