Highwood Mayor Arrested For DUI
HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (CBS) -- The mayor of north suburban Highwood has been charged with driving drunk, after being pulled over in neighboring Highland Park.
Mayor Charlie Pecaro, 42, of the 0-99 block of Exmoor Court, Highwood, was pulled over at 2:34 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Half Day Road and Western Avenue in Highland Park for allegedly driving without head or tail lights on and following too closely, according to the Highland Park Police Department's arrest report.
The report also states that Pecaro's blood alcohol content registered higher than the state's .08 limit, the Highland Park News reported.
He was released on a recognizance bond pending a Sept. 23 date at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.
Pecaro was not immediately available for comment Tuesday.
