High Waves Prompt Lakeshore Flood Advisory
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A lakeshore flood advisory was in effect until Tuesday afternoon, as high waves were crashing along the lakefront.
The National Weather Service issued a lakeshore flood advisory for Cook County, and Lake and Porter counties in northwest Indiana, until 1 p.m. Chicago time.
Waves of up to 14 feet were expected through midmorning.
Large waves were crashing along the Chicago Lakefront Trail mid-morning. Joggers and cyclists who use the lakefront path should use caution, and be alert for large waves that could wash up on the trail.
