High-End Retailer Burglarized On Michigan Ave.
CHICAGO (WBBM) - Chicago police confirmed the Louis Vuitton store at 919 North Michigan was burglarized at 6 a.m. Saturday morning.
Several wallets and purses were taken. The dollar value is not know, but it's a high end retailer. Louis Vuitton's website shows women's wallets range from approximately $500 to about $1,000, while handbags cost from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.
Chicago police could not say how many people were involved, and would not classify it as a mob attack. Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy previously said the department was stepping up its efforts to protect retailers on North Michigan Avenue from the problem.
No one was in custody as of 11 a.m. Saturday, and detectives remained on the scene.
