Heyman: Dunn, Peavy Keys To Success For White Sox

(WSCR) After a three-game sweep of the Cubs at Wrigley Field, the White Sox are 21-21, sitting 2 1/2 games out of first place in the American League Central.

One key to the White Sox's early success this season is the resurgence of Adam Dunn and Jake Peavy.

"The best thing about them is that Dunn and Peavy are back to being themselves," Jon Heyman of CBS Sports said. "I thought the key to the season was Dunn, Peavy and (Alex) Rios being themselves. You've got two guys who are performing splendidly. That gives them a chance."

Through the team's first 42 games, Dunn is batting .247 with 14 home runs, nine doubles and 32 RBIs. Peavy has amassed a 5-1 record with 2.39 ERA through nine starts.

Heyman also said he thinks the White Sox have a shot at making some noise in the race for first in the Central Division.

"I don't know if they have enough offense. They certainly need Konerko in the lineup with Dunn, but they've got an outside shot," Heyman said. "I thought the White Sox would be around .500 this year. I think Detroit has been the surprise so far. They're not producing offensively and they're keeping at least Cleveland and the White Sox in that race for now."
