Henry Melton Arrested In Texas For Assault, Public Intoxication

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Injured Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton was arrested early Sunday morning in Grapevine, Texas for assault with bodily injury and public intoxication.
Sgt. Robert Eberling of the Grapevine Police Department confirmed the arrest to CBSChicago.com.
The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. CT Sunday morning at Chill Sports Bar. According to police, Melton "became combative" with a staff member when he was asked to leave and a manager was allegedly struck. Police were then notified.

Melton was cooperative with police when they arrived, according to Sgt. Eberling.
The defensive tackle was released on bond after 9 a.m. Sunday morning.
Melton tore his ACL against the Pittsburgh Steelers Sept. 22 and has been rehabbing since. He was playing on the one-year franchise tag that paid him $8.45 million. He is a free agent at the end of the season.
"We are aware of the reports regarding Henry Melton," the Bears said in a statement Sunday. "We are currently gathering information to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the arrest."
Melton played high school football in Grapevine.
