Health Insurance Company Cooperating With State After Warning
CHICAGO (WBBM) - The Illinois Department of Insurance issued a warning about a health insurance company. Now, the company is trying to resolve the matter.
The CEO of ReAssurance Health says the company is now working with the state, turning over all records, customer names, even its computers.

Donald Chew also says his company has transferred the insurance policies that were sold to a few Illinois residents to other insurance companies.
In order to sell health insurance in Illinois, companies must be licensed with the state and have their policies approved by the Illinois Department of Insurance. ReAssurance Health neglected this first step before it started selling.
The Department issued a warning not to do business with ReAssurance, calling it a scam, and urged anyone who purchased a policy to immediately get coverage from another company.
