Head Of NFL Players Association To Miss Negotiation Session
MINNEAPOLIS (CBS) -- NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith is expected to miss a court-ordered labor negotiation session Tuesday.
NFLPA spokesman George Atallah posted Monday on his Twitter account that Smith would miss the third session of talks in Minneapolis.
"DeMaurice Smith will not attend tomorrow's sessions due to a family medical emergency. Thanks for respecting his personal privacy," Atallah posted.
The current NFL Lockout is now well past the one-month mark.
U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson ordered mediation on Monday of last week. Nelson is still considering a request from the players to lift the lockout imposed by owners after the players dissolved their union, clearing the way for the court fight.
